Edmonton police responded to the report of a death at a residence in the area of 84 Street and 136 Avenue.  Upon arrival, officers located a deceased adult male in the basement of the home on March 17th at approximately 11:18 a.m.

On arrival, police located Austin Anderson deceased at the scene.

OnThursday, March 21, 2024, the Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on Austin Anderson, 29, and determined his cause of death to be strangulation. The manner of death was homicide.

Homicide Section has since arrested and charged Joshua Fairley, 31, with second degree murder in relation to Anderson’s death.  Both men were known to one another.
