Edmonton Police investigating suspicious Fathers Day death

Edmonton police were called to the area of 125 Street and 132 Avenue at approximaty 12:30 am on June 18th after a passerby found two injured men in the plaza parking lot.

One male was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics, the other man is expected to survive.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Police have identified the victim as 18 year old Joshua Gilbert Barnes.  A photo of the suspect’s vehicle has been released.

Update May 10th, 2018

On May 8, 2018  a 17 year old male turned himself in to police at an Alberta RCMP detachment. The youth has been charged with  2nd degree murder, robbery using a prohibited firearm (x2), possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to the public, firearm in a motor vehicle and disguised with the intent to commit an indictable offence in relation to the death of Joshua Gilbert Barnes.
