police responded to the report of a single vehicle collision in an alley in the area of 47 Street and 118 Avenue on March 11th at approximately 2:30 a.m.
On arrival police located Ossama Ghaly, 44, injured in the driver’s seat. Paramedics attempted life-saving measures however Ghaly died of his injuries on scene. Investigators said further investigation revealed that the male had injuries consistent with an assault, not a collision.
An autopsy was completed and confirmed Ghaly died as a result of a stab wound, and the manner of death a homicide.
Ian Whitford, 40, has since been charged with second degree murder in relation to Ghaly’s death.
