Edmonton police said Christopher Chase, 36, was allegedly involved in an altercation with a 26-year-old man outside of a convenience store near 107 Avenue and 156 Street, on April 21st.

It is alleged that Chase pushed the victim who fell and struck his head. The victim was treated in hospital where he died on April 27th. An autopsy was performed and revealed the cause of death to be blunt force trauma.

Chase was initially charged with aggravated assault, however his charged was upgraded to manslaughter on May 7th.
