Ontario Provincial Police said emergency crews were called to a multi-unit building on John Street in Napanee on August 3rd at 8:15 p.m.

On arrival police located 67-year-old Walter Lasher suffering from injuries. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

On August 9th Lennox and Addington OPP said they had arrested Andrew James Thompson, 31, and charged him with first-degree murder, criminal harassment, three counts of arson damaging property and one count of arson with disregard for human life.
