Stratford Police Service and Perth County Paramedic Services responded to an incident within a home on Ontario St in the City of Stratford on October 15, 2024, at 5:00 am.

On arrival, Police located thirty-five-year-old Kassidy Ballantyne-Holmes who was unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to Stratford General Hospital where she later died from her injury.

As a result of the investigation, forty-one-year-old Keith Savile was arrested and later charged with:

• Second Degree Murder
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Weapons trafficking and manufacturing
