Charges laid in the homicide of Jamie Leroy Roberts in Stanley Mission First Nation.

Stanley Mission RCMP received a request to conduct a welfare check on a man on September 26th at 4:3 pm, at a residence located on the Stanley Mission First Nation.

Police along with health workers in the community attended the residence and attempted to contact the man. When attempts to talk to the man were unsuccessful police decided to speak with the other man inside the residence. As police entered the residence they heard a dun being loaded.

Police secured the surrounding the perimeter, and at approximately 5:15am the following morning the suspect surrendered to police. Police then entered the residence to find Jamie Leroy Roberts, 45, of Stanley Mission deceased and the manner of death to be a homicide.

26-year-old Kane Lenard Roberts, of Stanley Mission, SK, has been charged with Second Degree Murder, and Indignity to a Dead Body.
