A 37 year old man who was convicted of abusing his son when he was a child, has been charged with manslaughter On Nov 2nd, in the death of his 13-month-old grandson.
The baby was airlifted from Niagara to McMaster hospital with a fatal head injury on July 25 where he dies the next day.
Despite pleading from the baby’s young father and the grandfather’s criminal record, he and his wife were granted custody of the baby in May by the local children’s aid society.
On July 20th at 7:30 am, emergency crews responded to a house fire in the north end of Winnipeg. Once the fire was extinguished fire fighters located The body of Justin Harvey Chezic, 42 years old.
Police haven’t said whether or not Chezick was killed before the fire was started, or by the fire itself.
On Monday July 27th Romeo Ryle, 19, turned himself in to police, two days after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Ryle has since been charged with second degree Murder.
RCMP charged Joel Clow July 26th with murder, Clow is also facing charges of indecently interfering with human remains in the death of Traci Lynch in Pleasant Gove whose body was found July 24th.
The case has been adjourned and has been scheduled to return to court Aug. 19
Daniel Lefebvre, 25, of Thurso Quebec was charged with manslaughter after his seven week old baby, died July 17th.
Lefebvre has been accused of shaking his baby, who was found unconscious on July 15.
Gino Langevin was charged with first-degree murder Wednesday July 22, the day after witnesses say Gail Fawcett was “stabbed by a naked man” in broad daylight in Ottawa Ontario.
Fawcett was rushed to hospital but later died from her injuries.
The attack started inside the home and ended on the street. The first-responding paramedic, witnessed the stabbing, kicked the knife away from the suspect and called for police.
On July 16th, Montreal police issued a Canada-wide warrant for a man wanted in connection with the slaying of his ex-girlfriend.
On may 30th police discovered the body of Charlie Cecilia Garcia Larez, 36, in bed in her Montreal apartment. The death was labeled as suspicious, and now deemed as a homicide.
An anonymous donor is offering a $5,000 reward through Sun Youth to anyone with information that can help police locate Létourneau.

A body of a man was found dead by witnesses on July 17th in Andy Livingstone Park, in Vancouver.
The victim has only been identified only as a 44-year-old who had recently arrived in Vancouver.
Minutes after the discovery of the body, witnesses saw a man, Matthew Brenner, 26, running from the area. Police caught Brenner who has since been charged with second degree murder
5 year old Eneas Emilio Perdomo, was taken to the Alberta Children’s Hospital on July 10 by family members with injuries that they said were from numerous accidents.of numerous accidents.
Hospital staff observed the swelling and bleeding were not consistent with the activities of a five-year-old.
Perdomo died the following week in hospital.
No charges have been laid at this time.
Earl Peter Audi Lathlin 23, has been charged with second degree murder following an assault in early July.
RCMP were called to a home in Crossing Bay on July 3, where they found a 62 year old male suffering from serious injuries. The man whose name has not been released died in hospital.
Lecent Ross 14, was shot in the face with an illegal semi automatic handgun, while visiting a friend in Toronto on July 11th. Police were initially told Lecent accidentally fired the gun herself.
A 13 year old boy has been charged with manslaughter, and an 18 year old boy has been charged with criminal negligence causing death.
The older boy can’t be named as the boys are brothers and the 13 year olds name cannot be disclosed under the criminal youth act.
