Calgary police and EMS were called to an apartment in the 200 block of 6 Avenue S.E., to check on the welfare of an occupant on August 9th at approximately 2:15pm.

On arrival police located Michael Donald Lloyd, 42, deceased. Investigators believe that Lloyd had died several days before being discovered. The cause of death will not be released by police at this time, however, an autopsy confirmed his death was a homicide.

Update
Calgary police announced on November 4th that Steven Joseph READER, 27, was arrested and has now been charged with second-degree murder. He will next appear in court on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021.
