Calgary 2023 Homicide Victim List is available here

Calgary police responded to the report of a body in a suitcase an area outside of an industrial complex in the 5500 block of 1A Street S.W. on April 11th at approximately 3:00pm.

On arrival police located John Sidney Taylor, 62, deceased in the suitcase. The cause of death is pending further testing.

One person being questioned and their involvement is pending further investigation.

Homicide investigators seeking more information and say the death is being investigated as suspicious given the circumstances in which his body was disposed. It is believed that TAYLOR died elsewhere and his body was transported to the location in which it was found.

Investigators are asking anyone with information or who may have been in the area between 5 a.m., on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, and when the body was discovered at 3 p.m., to call police at 403-266-1234, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
