Calgary police responded to reports that two vehicles were involved in a shooting in the community of Forest Lawn on September 12th at approximately 2:50am. Police said the shooting occurred outside of the Portico Hookah Lounge.
Police arrived at the scene to find a vehicle that had collided into an LRT barricade at 36 Street and 26 Avenue N.E. The two male occupants in the vehicle were found suffering from serious injuries. they were rushed to the hospital where Abdurahaman Indiris, 21, was pronounced deceased and the other man remains in stable condition.
According to reports two groups of males became involved in a disturbance inside of the lounge before being asked to leave. The dispute escalated outside and resulted in the shooting.
Police are looking for the public’s help to identify a suspect who is described as a black man, with short black hair and was wearing a Gucci shoulder bag. Anyone with information is asked to contact police by calling the Calgary Police Service non-emergency line at 403-266-1234.
Update September 14th
With assistance from the public, Police have charged Samuel Lugela, 28, of Calgary in relation to the homicide. Anyone with info, photos, or videos of this incident is asked to call police 403-266-1234.
According to a report by CBC, the accused is the older brother of Nelson Lugela. Nelson was charged with the murder of Calgary Stampeder Mylan Hicks back in 2016.
On September 15th
Police arrested Feysal Osman ABDUL-AZIZ, 27, of Calgary, and charged him with second-degree murder.
