Winnipeg firefighters responded to reports of a fire in a single-family bungalow in the 1900 block of William Avenue West on January 20th at 11:56pm.

On arrival they located a well-involved fire, with heavy smoke and flames coming from the home. Firefighters entered the home once the fire under control at 1:14 a.m, where they located Brian Robert Scibak, 61, deceased.

Winnipeg police said the fire is suspicious, and the death is being investigated as a homicide.
