Police were called to a home on Cartier Street in the Kitigan Zibi reserve on Sunday June 5th after reports of loud noises were made. Police found 18 year old Bret-James Jerome unresponsive outside a home, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Jerome was sent to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Amik Mitchell 22, has been charged with first-degree murder.
