Behchokǫ̀ RCMP said the body of a 28-year-old man was located on July 18th, in a grassy area next to a roadway in the Tłı̨chǫ community at approximately 7 a.m.

Police said a preliminary investigation into the death has lead investigators to believe that the man was the victim of a homicide. Police have not released the victim’s identity or cause of death at this time.

Police said a 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection to the death.

Update November 22, 2024: The youth has been found not guilty of second degree murder in the death of Dien Erasmus.
