Aurora ON – John Sedo guilty of Manslaughter-degree murder in the disappearance of his wife Helen Sedo

York Regional Police Homicide Unit have charged a 61-year-old John Sedo with second degree murder in relation to the disappearance of his wife Helen Sedo.

Police said Helen Sedo, 61, was last seen on the evening of Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at her residence on Treegrove Circle in the Town of Aurora.

Police arrested John Sedo on September 23rd and charged him with second degree murder. Investigators believe that Helen Sedo is deceased and officers continue to search for her and her vehicle.

Police have released images of what John Sedo was wearing on the dates around Helen’s disappearance. Helen’s vehicle has been described as a 2012 silver Acura RDX, Licence plate CBDY 015.

Police are asking anyone who recalls seeing him or the vehicle on July 29, 30, and or 31, 2020, to please contact police at the Homicide Unit Tip line at 1-866-287-5025, or email the Homicide Unit at homicide@yrp.ca.

Update: On Thursday, February 29, 2024, a jury found John SEDO guilty of Manslaughter. Sentencing is scheduled to take place in the upcoming months.
