Ashely Courterielle charged with second-degree murder of Audrey Corcoran in Edmonton

Edmonton police responded to a weapons complaint at a residence in the northwest Edmonton neighbourhood of Kensington on Monday, July 13 at approximately 2:15am.

Police arrived to find Audrey Corcoran, 33, suffering from a stab wound. Paramedics treated and transported the woman to hospital with serious injuries, where she remained until she died of her injuries on July 19th.

Originally Ashely Courterielle, 38, with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon. When Corcoran dies of her injuries the charges were upgraded to Second-degree murder. Courterielle is also facing a charge of assault with a weapon for an altercation that occurred with a bystander who attempted to intervene in the attack on Corcoran.
