Rankin Inlet RCMP responded to a report of a deceased male on August 25th. The ‘V’ Division Major Crime Unit, along with the Forensic Identification Unit are investigating the incident.

On August 30th RCMP announced that Arsene Innukshuk, 22, has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code:
– Section 235(1), murder
– Section 268, aggravated assault
– Section 267(a), assault with a weapon

Innukshuk’s next court appearance will be on September 26, 2023 in Iqaluit.
