RCMP were called to the report of a deceased woman in a residence in Fort Simpson on January 19th.

RCMP said a medical examination determined her death was the result of a homicide. Police have not released the identity of the deceased or the cause of death.

Police arrested 26-year-old Alison Sanguez and charged her with manslaughter in connection to the death. She remains in custody.
