Update: Three men charged – Abbotsford Police and IHIT homicide of 77-year-old Arnold De Jong and 76-year-old Joanne De Jong

Abbotsford Police Department responded to the report of two deceased adults within a home at 33600 block of Arcadian Way, on May 9th at 10:26 am.

On arrival police located the victims and confirmed the deaths as being suspicious. Early indications suggest that this is not connected to the Lower Mainland Gang Conflict. The victims have been identified as a married couple, 77-year-old Arnold De Jong and 76-year-old Joanne De Jong. IHIT is working to determine whether the murders were targeted.

Abbotsford Police Major Crime Unit has transitioned this investigation to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT). Investigators are asking anyone with information about this incident, dashcam footage, or CCTV from the area within the previous 24 hours is asked to please call the IHIT Infoline at 1-877-551-4448.

Update December 16th
IHIT announced that they arrested 20-year-old Gurkaran Singh, 22-year-old Abhijeet Singh and 22-year-old Khushveer Toor. All three have been charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Police said the three men lived together and none of them had criminal records.
