Kativik Regional Police Force responded to an emergency call about a possible home fire on November 1st in a Salluit residence..
Police and firefighters arrived at the address, to find no signs of a fire, they did however find a woman lying on a bed in a bedroom. The woman was taken to the community nursing center by ambulance where she was pronounced deceased. The victim’s age and identity have not been released.
RPF requested the assistance of the Sûreté du Québec to take over the investigation.
A suspect is currently held in custody.
