A teen who was charged in a Montreal double homicide also facing murder charges in the deaths of a 73-year-old woman and her 22-year-old granddaughter who were fatally shot at a Pointe-St-Charles apartment

Montreal police responded to a 911 call of a shooting at an apartment on Mullins St. between Charlevoix and d’Hibernia Sts. at 2:40 a.m, on December 15th.

On arrival police located a 73-year-old woman and her 22-year-old granddaughter, suffering from gunshot wounds. The 73-year-old woman was pronounced deceased at the scene and the 22-year-old woman was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police said the incident is now being investigated as a double-homicide. No arrests have been made at this time.

The deaths of the two women are the 37th and 38th homicide of the year in Montreal.

Update November 29th, 2023
Montreal police said a teenager who has been accused of shooting and killing two other teens was also involved in the shooting deaths of Jade Beaulieu Racette, 22, and her grandmother Huguette Racette. The teen is 18 now, however, he cannot be named as he was underage at the time of the homicides. His accomplice has also been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
