Saskatchewan 2026 Homicide Victim List

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with manslaughter following a fatal incident in the Lac La Ronge Indian Band community of Bell’s Point, Saskatchewan.

According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, officers with the RCMP Homicide Investigation Unit took over the case after local police responded to a report of an injured person late on the night of February 25, 2026.

At approximately 10:10 p.m., members of the La Ronge RCMP were called to a residence in Bell’s Point, a community within the Lac La Ronge Indian Band. When officers arrived, they found an injured 38-year-old man from the La Ronge area inside the home.

Emergency medical services attended the scene and pronounced the man dead. Police confirmed that his family has been notified and that victim services are being offered to support them during this time.

Roughly 20 minutes later, at around 10:30 p.m., officers arrested a male youth at a separate residence in the same community. Following further investigation, the RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit charged the 16-year-old on February 26 with one count of manslaughter under Section 236(b) of the Criminal Code.

Because the accused is a minor, his name cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Investigators say the victim and the accused were known to one another, but no further details about their relationship or the circumstances of the death have been made public.
