Calgary police were called to a home on Rideau Place SW, on October 4th on report of a death. Police arrived to find Audrey Van Zuiden 80, dead and her husband Siegfried (Fred) Van Zuiden 85, at the scene.

Fred Van Zuiden a WWII survivor and author of  “Call Me Mom” place the 911 call at around 4:15am to alert police of the death. Police said the death was “domestic in nature” but did not release the cause of death.

Fred Van Zuiden has been charged with second degree murder and is due to appear in court October 5th.
