64-year-old man charged with the murder of his 93-year-old father Gennaro Calabrese, in Montreal’s 23rd homicide of 2020

Montreal police were called to a home on Dumas Street in Montreal’s LaSalle borough on Nov. 16th, after a care worker reported a deceased 93-year-old man. The home-care service work had come to pride care to the victim’s wife when he was found.

Police arrived to find Gennaro Calabrese, 93, deceased. Police said Calabrese’s body showed signs of violence. According to The Montreal Gazette, “According to a source close to the investigation, the victim was punched in the head before he died. “

Giuseppe Calabrese, 64, has been charged with second degree murder. Calabrese is the victim’s son.
