Cold Lake RCMP and paramedics responded to a report of a stabbing in the north area of Cold Lake on June 21st at approximately 1:37pm.

On arrival police located a 58-year-old woman suffering from serious injures. The victim, who has been identified as Guylaine Simone Poulin, was pronounced at the scene.

The Cold Lake RCMP arrested a 30-year-old male at the scene and charged him with second degree murder. Police have not released his identity or the relationship between the victim and the accused.
