Police found the five-month-old girl on February 3rd in Ste-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, the infant died in hospital two days later.

It has been reported that the mother of the infant left her daughter in the care of a man she had recently met, as she was having trouble finding childcare while she was at work.

Steven Bernard, 24, is facing a charge of manslaughter and criminal negligence causing death . The cause of death has not been released at this time.
