London Police investigating the homicide of Christopher Husty.

London police respond to a 911 call reporting a disturbance at an apartment in the area of Dufferin Ave and Colborne Street on Friday September 13th at approximately 9:20pm. 

Police arrived at the scene to find Christopher Husty, 59, suffering from serious injuries. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. 

Officers located a male attempting to leave the area of the disturbance, and while doing so he assaulted a citizen. Police arrested the man who has been identified as Ernest Guitare, 62 of London. Guitare was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder and Assault of a Police Officer. 

Police said the victim and suspect were known to each other, and the weapon has been recovered. Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670

Peel Police investigating the murder of a 17-year old bystander in Mississauga

Peel police responded to an apartment building on Darcel Avenue in Mississauga in regards to a shooting on September 15th at approximately 6:15pm.

Police arrived to find a 17-year-old boy suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Police said 5 additional people were injured and treated for gunshot wounds.  The injured include a 13-year-old girl, a 16-year-old boy, two 17-year-old boys and a 50-year old woman. Police said as the event took place, several families were at an icecream truck that was parked in the complex.

Peel police said the suspects in this incident were dressed in dark clothing wore balaclavas. Police stated their preliminary investigation revealed that the 17-year-old deceased victim was not the intended target in this incident nor were some of the injured. 

The investigation has revealed that there were in excess of 7 suspects and over 100 rounds fired during the incident.

Update July 21st 2020
Police have arrested two people in relation to the murder of Jonathan Davis and shooting on Darcel Avenue in Mississauga. On July 16th police arrested Safeer Ahmad, 19 from Mississauga, and charged him with Conspiracy to Commit Murder. On July 19th Jahvon Valdez,, 21, from Brampton, turned himself into Peel Police and was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.

Toronto Homicide #45 – Toronto man charged with first-degree murder after murdering his wife with a machete.

Toronto police responded to a call for a stabbing on Fishery Road on September 11th at 6:15pm.

Police arrived to the scene to find Tharshika Jeganathan, 27, of Toronto, suffering from serious injuries. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Duty Insp. Stacey Davis said “Witnesses observed a male suspect running around chasing the female victim with a machete,” 

Sasikaran Thanapalasingam, 38, of Toronto, surrendered to police on September 11th at approximately 7:00pm. He has been charged with first-degree murder.

Assailant, and victim dead after knife attack on Queen Street in Kingston

Kingston police were alerted of a stabbing at Queen and Bagot streets on September 12th at approximately 2:00pm. 

It is alleged that a 22-year-old man fatally stabbed a 40-year-old man on the street before he began moving toward one of the officers. The knife wielding man attacked another person and as he approached the officer he was shot by police.

The man then began stabbing himself before being shot with a stungun. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

A high-profile Red Scorpion Justin Lee Haevischer, shot to death at a McDonalds

Langley RCMP were called to a McDonald’s restaurant near 264th Street and 56th Avenue on multiple reports of a shooting on September 10th at approximately 8:00pm.

Police arrived to find a man who has been identified by the media as Justin Lee Haevischer deceased at the scene. 

About 30 minutes after the shooting, Abbotsford Police received a report of a burning SUV. SGT Frank Jang said “The vehicle is a black SUV and is believed to be linked to the earlier shooting. Forensic specialists will be conducting a full examination of the SUV and anyone with information is urged to contact police,” 

Jang said the victim is known to police and they believe the shooting was targeted. Investigators are appealing to witnesses as well as anyone with dash cam video to contact them at 1-877-551- 4448 or ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.

Vancouver police make an arrest in the city’s latest homicide

Vancouver police responded to a report of an altercation inside 1125 Pendrell Street on September 10th at approximately 8:00pm. 

Police arrived to find Kyle Vincent Gabriel, 29, with life-threatening injuries. Gabriel was rushed to hospital where he later died.

On September 11th police arrested a 23-year-old Vancouver man in the area of Pendrell and Thurlow streets. During the arrest, the suspect allegedly assaulted a police officer and tried to injure a police dog.

VPD said the homicide investigation is ongoing and no charges related to the homicide have been laid at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call VPD homicide detectives at 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Yasin Rashid, 23, was formally charged with second-degree murder in the death of Kyle Vincent Gabriel on October 11th.
