Hamilton Homicide #10 – Obsa Junedi-Mohamed shot to death outside Boulevard Billiards

Hamilton police were called to Boulevard Billiards located at 303 York Blvd on October 19th at approximately 1:35am on a report of a shooting that occurred outside of the establishment.

Police and paramedics arrives to find Obsa Junedi-Mohamed, 29, of Hamilton, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and without vital signs. Junedi-Mohamed was pronounced deceased at the scene.

 Hamilton Police are now looking for two male suspects who were seen arguing with the victim prior to the shooting. The first suspect has been described as a lighter-skinned black male, no facial hair, wearing a dark toque, dark hoody, and dark puffy jacket. The second suspect has been described as a darker-skinned black male, wearing a dark hoody, dark pants and a dark jacket.

Vancouver police investigate the homicide of 60-year-old Maggie Nelson

Vancouver police said 60-year-old Maggie Nelson was found deceased in her downtown apartment in the area of Keefer Street and Gore Avenue on Wednesday October 16th by a maintenance worker in the building.

The death of Nelson was originally labeled as suspicious, however, police stated in a press released that the death is a homicide. The cause of death has not been released to the public at this time.

No arrests have been made and police ask that anyone with information should contact VPD’s Major Crime Section at 604-717-2500 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Two men arrested in Campbell River’s first homicide of 2019

RCMP responded to a call of shots fired on the quiet street in an Ocean Grove neighbourhood on October 16th at approximately 2:30am.

Police arrived to find a man’s body outside a home at the end of the cul-de-sac. The victim was pronounced at the scene. Police have not released the identity of the victim this time.

Vancouver police arrested two men at approximately 5:00pm on October 16th. One man was arrested downtown in the area of Burrard Street between Robson and Alberni streets, and the other at West Fourth Avenue and Vine Street in Kitsilano. Police said there was a “violent struggle” during the arrest, which resulted in one of the suspects being injured. Neither suspect has been charged.

Toronto Homicide #57 – Don Mills shooting takes the life of Michael Huynh

Toronto police responded to a report of a shooting at 4005 Don Mills Road, on October 17th at approximately 7:30pm.

Police and paramedics arrived at the scene to find Michael Huynh, 30, suffering from serious injuries. Huynh was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police are looking to identify the driver of a flat black matte 2016 Audi RS7. Investigators believe this car was driven by, or in possession of, the suspect prior to and immediately after the shooting.

Cody Michaloski found dead in a Grande Prairie apartment was the victim of a homicide

RCMP were called to an apartment building on Poplar Drive in the early morning hours of October 13th where they found the body of a man in one of the units.

Police initially called the death suspicious however, an autopsy was conducted and proved otherwise. Police have not released the cause of death, only saying that the victim has been identified as Cody Michaloski, 28, and his death has been ruled a homicide.

No arrests have been made at this time.

RCMP investigating the murder of a woman in Pangnirtung Nunavut

Pangnirtung RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious death at a residence in the 500 block of Pangnirtung on October 13th at approximately 8:00am.

Police arrived at the scene to find a 52-year old woman deceased. Police determined the death was a homicide and arrested Denny Kilabuk, 27, and charged him with First-Degree-Murder. Police have not released the cause of death, or the relationship between the accused and the victim.

51-year old charged with the murder of Evan Straight, 19, in Upper Cloverdale New Brunswick

Southeast District RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Osprey Road in Upper Coverdale on October 13th at approximately 10:15 pm.

Police arrived at the scene to find  Evan Straight, 19, deceased as a result of what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

51-year-old Donald Kyle was arrested at the scene and charged with First Degree Murder.


60-year-old man charged with second-degree murder following a homicide investigation in Lincoln New Brunswick

West District RCMP responded to Gorham Court following a report of an altercation between two men on October 13th at approximately 11:30pm.

Police and paramedics arrived to find that a 50-year-old man from Lincoln was stabbed during the altercation. The victim who has been identified as Michael Sacobie died from his injuries at the scene.

On October 14th RCMP arrested 60-year-old Peter Mollins and have charged him with second degree murder.

Toronto Homicide #56 – Farhan Jama shot to death in Toronto’s Jamestown neighbourhood

Emergency crews responded to report of a shooting at 30 Orpington Crescent at approximately 12:30am on October 14th.

Police arrived at the scene to find Farhan Jama, 28, suffering from gunshot wounds outside of the address. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Detective Rob North said they believe the victim was walking to a home in the area when he was confronted by a group of individuals who began shooting. It has been reported that police found at least 20 shell casings in the area.

The homicide appears to be targetted but if Jama was the target is still under investigation. Police said the victim was not known to them, nor did he have any gang affiliations.
