31-year-old Cory Scribe, arrested and charged with Manslaughter in Norway House death

Norway House RCMP responded to a report of an unresponsive male found in a wooded area of the community on October 26, at approximately 10:30 a.m.

Police arrived to find a 27-year-old man in serious condition. The victim was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Police have not released the cause of death.

On October 28th, police arrested and charged Cory Scribe, 31, with Manslaughter in relation to the death.

No other information has been made available at this time. Norway House RCMP and the major crime unit continue to investigate.

Husband charged with second-degree murder- Betty Hughes found dead in the rubble of an intentionally set house explosion in Brandon Manitoba.

Brandon Police responded to a report of a house explosion in the 200 block of Queen’s Avenue East on October 22nd at approximately 7:50pm.

Emergency responders arrived to the strong smell of natural gas. Manitoba Hydro turned off the gas within the hour and Robert Hughes, 63, exited the residence on his own once the gas had been turned off. Robert Hughes was taken the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre by STARS air ambulance. His wife Betty Hughes, 63, was found deceased in the home after the structure was reinforced by members of Urban Search and Rescue.

Brandon police Sgt. Kirby Sararas told reporters “The death of Mrs. Hughes was not accidental but was caused by injuries inflicted on her prior to the explosion,”. Police also noted that the explosion was also determined to be intentionally set.

Mr. Hughes was released from the hospital on October 25th, arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Regina police declare that missing person, Jenaya Wapemoose, was the victim of a homicide

Police said Jenaya Mary  Wapemoose, 22, was last seen March 27, 2019, in Regina and her last social media post was on April 7th, 2019. Family members reported Wapemoose missing on May 7th, 2019.

Police followed up on possible sightings and re-checking addresses she might typically visit to no avail. On October 26th, 2019, human remains were discovered in an area northeast of Regina. Police said though the identity of the remains has not been confirmed they are working with the help of the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service, and the Regina Police Service Forensic Identification Unit.

Police have arrested Eric Lee Alvin Kakakaway, 25, on October 28th and charged him with second-degree murder and offering an indignity to a human body. Jeannette Mavis Kakakaway, 30, was also arrested and charged with accessory to murder after the fact.

Montreal police investigating the city’s 16th homicide of the year

Emergency crews responded to a report of an unconscious person on Lapierre Avenue near Pascal Street in Montreal-north on October 25th.

The victim, a 23-year-old man, has not been identified, and the investigation into his death is ongoing. Police said the victim was found after three men were shot at near Matte Avenue and Pierre street in Montreal north the same night. The three men sustained non-lifethreatening injuries.

Police said the two incidents are related but did not offer any other information.

IHIT investigates the fatal shooting of Keith Baldwin in Chilliwack.

Upper Fraser Valley RCMP responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Fletcher Street and Yale Road in Chilliwack on October 22nd at approximately 12:30am.

Police and paramedics arrived to find Keith Baldwin, 27, suffering from a serious gunshot wound. Balwin was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. Constable Harrison Mohr with IHIT said that Keith Baldwin was known to police and the shooting appears to be targeted.

Mario Ibrahim shot to death in front of a condominium in Mississauga

Peel police responded to report of a shooting in front of a condominium building located on Webb Drive in the City of Mississauga on October 22nd at approximately 11:50pm.

Police and emergency crews arrived to find 26-year-old Mario Ibrahim of Stoufville suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts, Ibrahim died from his injuries.

According to polive the investigation has revealed that Ibrahim was seated in a vehicle when the suspect walked up to the vehicle and fired several bullets towards him. The suspect then fled the area on foot.

Winnipeg Police investigating the double homicide of two men.

Winnipeg Police responded to a Medic call where two males were reported down in the rear lane of Ross Avenue at Isabel Street on October 27th at approximately 2:30am.

Police arrived to find the two men suffering from upper-body injuries. Both victims were rushed to hospital where they died from their injuries. Police have not released the victim’s identities or the cause of death at this time.

Police have identified the victims as Edwin Adrian Harper, 32, and Wayne Patrick Palidwor, 62 both from Winnipeg,

Winnipeg Homicide #33 – Police investigate the stabbing death of a 14-year-old girl

Winnipeg Police responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence in the 100 block of Kinver Avenue on October 26th at approximately 10:45pm.

Police and paramedics arrived to find a 14-year-old, and an 18-year-old girl suffering from stabwounds. Both girls were rushed to hospital where the 14-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries. The other girl remains in hospital having been upgraded to a stable condition.

Update October 30th
Police believe that an argument during a party at the residence escalated to a physical altercation. On October 28th Winnipeg police arrested a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old girl. Both have been charged with Second Degree Murder
and Attempt to Commit Murder.

Roger Bishop, shot to death at World Gym in Brossard had links to organized crime

Longueuil police responded to report of a shooting in the parking lot of the World Gym on Taschereau Blvd on October 20th at around 11:30 am.

A man was found at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was rushed to hospital where he died later that day. Police confirmed the victim’s identity late on October 23rd as Roger Bishop, 49, a former Hells Angels associate.
