Lynda Papigatuk charged with the murder of Putulik Papigatuk in Salluit

Sûreté du Québec Major Crime Investigation Department were called to a residence on report of an unresponsive man on September 21st.

Putulik Papigatuk, 67, was found suffering from injuries and was rushed to hospital where he was reported deceased.

Lydia Papigatuk, 53, of Salluit, was arrested and appeared on September 23 at the Amos Court House on a charge of manslaughter.

Police investigating the homicide of Danny St-Germain in Alma, Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean

Sûreté du Québec responded to report of an assault on September 10th at approximately 3:10pm in the area of Champagnat Avenue near Bergeron Street.

Police and paramedics arrived to find Danny St-Germain, a 46-year-old man from the area suffering from serious injuries. St-Germain was rushed to hospital where he dies of his injuries.

Police said a man in his 20’s has been arrested. The extent of his charges have not been released.

David Fournier found dead near Grand-Métis, Quebec

Quebec police said the body of David Fournier, 41, was discovered deceased with marks of violence on a rural road on September 4th near Grand-Métis. Police have not released how Fournier died, only saying his death is a homicide.

Police are looking for a woman, whom police are calling an “important witness,”. Police said the woman who is in her 30’s stands about 5-foot-3 and weighs about 130 pounds.

46-year-old shot to death in Surrey

Surrey RCMP responded to an altercation in the 1600 block of 160 Street on September 6th at approximately 12:30am.

Police arrived at the scene to find an adult victim was located suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said the 46-year-old, was rushed to hospital, but died of his injuries.

Surrey RCMP has arrested two male suspects in relation to this homicide. Police said the victim and the suspects were known to each other.

Steven Butler stabbed to death in Ottawa, 19-year-old Nick Vanasse charged with murder.

Ottawa police responded to the Whitton Crescent and Whitton Place area in regards to a disturbance on September 8th at approximately 2:40am.

Police and paramedics arrived to find 47-year-old Steven Butler suffering from serious injuries. Butler was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Ottawa police have charged Nick Vanasse, 19 years old of Ottawa, with second-degree murder.

Codiac RCMP are investigating the suspicious deaths of a man and a woman

Codiac RCMP were called to a home on Amirault Street in Dieppe on September 7th where they discovered the bodies of a 78-year-old man and a 74-year-old woman. 

Sgt. Pierre Chiasson stated that both deaths have been deemed suspicious, but there isn’t an active threat to the public. Police do not believe this was a random occurrence.

Michael Antony Roebuck charged in Airdrie homicide

Airdrie RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the Canals neighborhood on Canoe Close S.W. on September 7th at approximately 5:00pm.

Police arrived to find the male victim suffering from serious injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Airdrie RCMP arrested and charged Michael Antony Roebuck, 59, with first-degree murder. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 19th.

Toronto Homicide #44 – Chiou-Shuang (Susan) Chen found dead in a Scarborough home

Toronto Police and paramedics to a medical call at a residence on Bonis Avenue, Scarborough on April 3, 2019.

Police arrived to find Chiou-Shuang (Susan) Chen, 40, deceased inside the residence and a suspicious death investigation assisted by Homicide investigators. 

On September 7th, 2019 Police released that the death of Chen is the 44th Toronto homicide in 2019. Mansour Jalali, 53, of Toronto, was arrested on September 7th and charged with first-degree murder.

Toronto Homicide #43 – Nathan Lloyd Ashman dies following an assault at a gas station

Toronto police responded to a call for an assault at a gas station in the Jane Street and Wilson Avenue area on September 4th at approximately 9:20pm.

Police said it’s alleged that two men were outside of a gas station and became involved in a physical altercation. Police arrived to find Nathan Lloyd Ashman, 36, of Toronto Unresponsive lying on the ground in a nearby park. Ashman was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Troy Anthony Hinds, 43, of Toronto was also taken to hospital for minor injuries and then arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Toronto Homicide #42 – Man dies in Scarborough nursing home after an altercation

Toronto police were called to Bendale Acres, a long-term care home at 2920 Lawrence Ave E., near Brimley Road, at approximately 10:41 a.m on September 3rd on a report of an assault.

Police said there was an altercation that resulted in one man being sent to hospital with serious injuries. The victim dies of his injuries in hospital in the afternoon of September 3rd.
