Manitoba RCMP said the human remains found near University College of the North on August 6, 2019, have been identified as 18-year-old Kendara Ballantyne. Kendara had been initially reported missing to The Pas RCMP on July 26, 2019.
The Pas RCMP along with our Major Crime Services continue to investigate. No other information is available at this time.
Newfoundland police said a 36-year-old woman was discovered on side of Minerals Road mid-day on Aug. 15 suffering from serious injuries.
The victim was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries. Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says police consider her death suspicious.
Police are urging people to come forward with any dash camera and CCTV footage from the area of Chris Porter Trucking on Minerals Road. If you have any information regarding this investigation contact police at 709-729-8155.
Westlock police responded to a report of a shooting of a 62-year-old man at approximately midnight on August 2nd.
Police arrived to find the 62-year-old victim deceased at the scene. On Saturday August 3rd police arrested a 17-year-old boy and charged him with second degree murder. Police said the victim and suspect were known to each other. Police have not released any other information.
Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a report of an unresponsive man at approximately 7:20am on McLeod Street on August 3rd.
Despite life saving efforts the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police have called the death suspicious and continue to investigate.

Toronto police responded to a call of assistance in the area of St. Clair Avenue and Rushton Road on August 7th at approximately 3:00 pm.
Police and paramedics arrived to find Grenville Johnson, 56, of Toronto, suffering from stab wounds. The victim was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. It is alleged that a physical altercation took place between two men where one man grabbed a knife and stabbed the other man.
Glen McGregor, 57, of Toronto was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Williams Lake RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the 1100 block of Mackenzie Avenue on August 6th at approximately 12:45am.
Police arrived to find a 43-year-old man suffering from serious injuries lying on a driveway. The victim was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Saskatoon Police Service attended to an apartment complex in the 2200 block of St. Charles Avenue to check on the welfare of a resident on August 3rd at approximately 1:20pm.
On arrival police found 68-year-old Richard Fernuk deceased. An autopsy was completed on August 6th and determined the death of Fernuk to be a homicide.
No arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with information about Richard Fernuk’s whereabouts on August 3rd or 4th is asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service at 306 975-8300.

London police and EMS responded to a 911 report of an assault at an address on Hansuld Street on July 23rd at approximately 9:30 pm.
Emergency crews located Robert Cecil Joshua-Burke, 33, of London in medical distress. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. An autopsy conducted on July 25th revealed the manner of death to be a homicide.
Adrian Julian Toussaint, 26, of London was arrested on August 2nd, and charged with manslaughter.
Granby Police Service responded to report of a shooting at a single-family home on Foch Street at approximately 11:00 am on Sunday, August 4th.
Police and paramedics arrived to find Steve Marquis, 51, suffering from serious injuries. Marquis was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Police said they have arrested a 69-year-old suspect, however, the charges were not specified.
Sûreté du Québec were called to a home on Saint-Adolphe Street, in Baie-Saint-Paul, on August 3rd at approximately 2:00pm after Violaine Gagnon didn’t show up for work.
Police arrived to find Violaine Gagnon, 59, deceased in a suspicious manner, however, cause of death has not been released. Later that day the SQ arrested the victim’s 29-year-old son in Quebec City, he is expected in court on August 5th. Police have not released what charge the suspect is facing.
