Update: Toronto Homicide #32 – Shooting at Orchid Nightclub takes the life of Jordan Armstrong

Toronto police were called to Orchid Nightclub on June 30th at approximately 2:56 am on a call of unknown trouble.

Police said a staff member found a man suffering from a gunshot wound at closing time. The victim, Jordan Armstrong, 33, of Markham, was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Anyone who may have photographs and/or videos taken from inside the nightclub on the night of June 29-30, 2019, is asked to contact police at 416-808-7400.

Update July 6th
Toronto police have further reported that Security heard a loud bang from the men’s washroom. The victim was found in the washroom suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police are asking that any patrons of Orchid Nightclub come forward with information, photographs and/or videos taken from inside the nightclub on the night of June 29-30, 2019.

Toronto Homicide #30 / #31 – Christopher Teape & Ahmed Mohamud, shot to death on Emmett Ave

Toronto police responded to a report of gunshots at 55 Emmett Ave, on June 29th at approximately 1:30am.

Police arrived to find two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One man was pronounced deceased at the scene, the other man was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. Police said a third man was also shot, but sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The victims have been identified as Christopher Teape, 25, of Toronto, and Ahmed Mohamud, 32, of Toronto.

Kevon Samuel charged with the stabbing death of Edmondo Samuel in Brampton

Peel police responded to a 911 call at a residence in the area of Kennedy Road and Williams Parkway in Brampton on June 27th at approximately 8:30am.

Police arrived to find Edmondo Samuel, a 45 year-old-man from Brampton, suffering from a stab wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Kevon Samuel, 19, was taken into custody at the scene and charged with Second Degree Murder.

Toronto Homicide #29 – 17-year-old Jaydin Simpson shot to death at a Danzig St complex

Toronto police were called to a Toronto Community Housing townhouse complex, on Danzig Street, on June 27th at approximately 11:30 pm on report of a shooting.

Police located 17-year-old Jaydin Simpson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and performed CPR until paramedics arrived. The teen was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries overnight.

A description of the suspect has not been released at this time. Police said there were crowds of people around when the shooting occurred and are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying those responsible for his murder.

Toronto Homicide #28 – Johnson Reyes, 61, stabbed to death on Parkwoods Village Drive

Toronto police responded to report of a stabbing at 57 Parkwoods Village Drive, on June 27th at approximately 7:30am.

Police arrived to find Johnson Reyes, 61, of Toronto, suffering from a stab wound. Despite life saving efforts Reyes was pronounced at the scene.

On June 28th, Toronto police arrested Stewart Rintoul, 52, of Toronto, and Everett Rintoul, 50, of Toronto. Both men have been charged with first degree murder.

Edmonton Homicide Section investigating the suspicious death of a 43-year-old man

Edmonton police located a deceased male outdoors in the area of 100 Street and 106 Avenue, on June 26th at approximately 9:00pm.

An autopsy was conducted by the Edmonton Medical Examiner on June 27th, however the results were inconclusive. Police said further medical testing will be conducted on the 43-year-old victim.

Edmonton Police Homicide Section continues to investigate.

RCMP Investigating the death of a woman in Berwyn as a homicide.

RCMP were called to a home in Berwyn, on June 26th at approximately 9:30am to assist paramedics.

When police arrived the 31-year-old woman was deceased inside the home. The death has been deemed a homicide. The identity of the deceased and cause of death have not been released at this time.

Vancouver Homicide #6 – Homicide Unit investigating the death of John Leslie McIver

Vancouver police were called to a report of a suspicious death at McIver’s Appliance Sales and Service, near Ontario Street and East 69th Avenue, on June 26th at approximately 8:30am.

Police arrived to find John Leslie McIver, 78,  deceased at the scene. Police have not released the cause of death at this time.

Vancouver police homicide detectives are now investigating, and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call VPD’s Homicide Unit at 604-717-2500. 

Update July 26th.

36 year old Brian Roger Holt, has been arrested and charged with second degree murder in relation to the death of John Leslie McIver.

Vancouver police investigating the city’s 5th homicide of 2019

Vancouver police responded to report of a shooting in the area of Main and East 35th  Avenue around 9:45pm on June 25th.

Police arrived at the apartment building to find Vaughn Bradley Lim, 33, deceased. Police said the victim died from a gunshot wound. The identity of the deceased hasn’t been released because police are awaiting confirmation on that person’s identity.

A man in his 30’s was arrested “short distance away from where the homicide occurred,” said Vancouver Police spokesman Cst. Steve Addison.

Janice Whitequill, found deceased in Regina. Second degree murder charge laid.

Regina police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Cameron Street at 4:12 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25th, where the found a deceased woman outside the home.

The victim has been identified at Janice Whitequill, 51, of Regina. Police have not released the cause of death at this time.

Morley Whitquill, 49, has been charged with second degree murder. Police have not released the relationship between the accused and the victim
