Hamilton police investigating the city’s 5th homicide of the year – Tyquan Brown victim of fatal stabbing

Hamilton police responded to report of an injured man in an alley near Sherman Ave. and Barton St, on May 31st at approximately 12:30am.

Emergency crews arrived to find Tyquan Brown, 23, in an alleyway, suffering from a stab wound. Brown was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police said Brown was with a group of people who had been watching the Raptors game at a home nearby. Police said a suspect got out of a vehicle and approached the group. the suspect was not happy that a girl he knew was socializing with the group and stabbed Brown.

Dylon Moniz Duarte, of Hamilton is wanted for first-degree murder.

Dylon Duarte was located in the area of Grandville Avenue and Delewana Avenue on June 1st. He was arrested as he was entering a taxi by members of the Major Crime Unit and East End patrol officers.

Charles Maltais is charged in the death of his mother, Lucille Maltais, 71, who was found dead after a fire

RCMP said the body of Lucille Maltais, 71, was found inside a burned home in Val-d’Amour, after police were called to a house fire on May 22nd.

Investigation revealed the the fire was deliberately set and that the death of Maltais was a homicide. Police arrested Charles Alex Maltais, 42, the son of the deceased on May 24th. Charles Maltaias was arrested in Richmond BC and charged with second-degree murder and arson.

2 women charged with murder in relation to the death of a 25-year-old woman in Winnipeg

Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of an injured woman at a home in the 400 block of Simcoe St, on May 25th at approximately 2:45am.

Police arrived to find a 25-year-old Shaylnne Marie Hunter, suffering from stab wounds. Hunter was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries. On May 28th Polidce arrested Diane Tamara KING, 18, of Winnipeg and Tasha LAQUETTE, 22, of Winnipeg, have been charged with Second Degree Murder.

22-year-old shot to death in Portage La Prairie

RCMP responded to a shooting at a residence on 1st Street NW in Portage La Prairie, on May 20th at approximately 4:35am.

Police arrived to find a 22-year-old male from Langruth, Manitoba suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

On May 24th police arrested Laurent Beaulieu, 18, and charged him with second degree murder. Police also arrested a 17 year-old female from Long Plain First Nation has been charged with Accessory After the Fact to Murder.

Daniel Joseph Morrison found dead on Meewasin Trail

Saskatoon Police Service, and paramedics responded to a report of an injured male found under a pedestrian bridge on the Meewasin Trail on May 26th at approximately 6:45pm.

On arrival police located Daniel Joseph Morrison, 36, suffering from serious injuries. Morrison was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. La Loche RCMP investigating the community’s latest homicide of Dawson Herman

La Loche RCMP responded to a report of an assault in progress on May 25th, between two adults, near a recreation area in the community. It has been reported that a 19-year-old man intervened in the assault prevent further injury to the woman, and was also assaulted.

Police arrived to find Dawson Herman, 19, severely injured. Herman was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. Jones Herman, 22, from La Loche, was arrested on May, 26th and charged with second-degree murder.

RCMP has not released the relationship between the victim and the suspect.

Third victim dies Victim Identified – Calgary police investigating a house fire that took 2 lives as a homicide

Emergency crews responded to a house fire on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at 2 p.m, in the 0-100 block of Kincora Drive N.W.

Emergency crews arrived to find two people deceased and one injured woman. The woman was rushed to hospital with serious fire-related injuries.

Police have not released the identity of the victims at this time. The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Calgary Police Service Homicide Tip Line at 403-428-8877

Update May 29th
The victim has been identified as Dorsa DEHDARI, 22, of Calgary. The second person found deceased, is believed to be the suspect, and has been identified as Heidar DEHDARI, 56, of Calgary. Heidar is the father of Dorsa.  It is believed an altercation occurred inside the home and a fire was intentionally set. 

Update September 3rd
On Sept. 2, 2019, Dorna Dehdari, 15, of Calgary, succumbed to complications due to the injuries she sustained in the fire on May 25.  Calgary police said both Dorna and Dorsa were the victims of a domestic-related homicide. Heidar Dehdari, 56, the father of both victims, is believed to be responsible for intentionally setting the fatal fire.

Update, Victim identified – Police investigating a homicide in Fort Richmond

Winnipeg police responded to report of suspicious circumstances in the 900-block of Greencrest Avenue at about 5:15pm on May 24th.

Police arrived to find a deceased male. The Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. No other information has been made available at this time.

Update:
The deceased has been identified as Pedram Roshaeian, 26. The cause of death was a gunshot wound. Anyone with information is asked to call 204-986-6508.
