Waterloo Regional Police were called to the Surrey Gardens townhouse complex at 241 Southwood Drive on January 31st at approximately 6:25am on report of an injured male.

Police arrived to find a male victim in distress. The victim was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

44-year-old Cece Luppino shot to death in Hamilton’s first homicide of 2019

Hamilton police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at 56 Mountain Brow Blvd, on January 30th at approximately 5:55pm.

Police and paramedics arrived to find a 44-year-old Cece Luppino suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.

Police are looking for a suspect described as male, black, average or athletic build, wearing a black waist-length winter coat black pants, black boots, black toque, and grey shirt. The suspect was seen walking through the neighbouring property at 52 Mountain Brow Blvd, and into the victim’s open garage. After the shooting the victim fled southbound on Rendell Blvd.

Homicide investigation launched into the death of Nicholas Samaroo in Pickering

Police said on  January 25, 2019 at approximately 7:30 a.m., they received a call from a woman who was walking her two dogs and came upon a deceased male in a wooded area.

The body of Nicholas Samaroo 24, was found with obvious signs of trauma near Liverpool Road North, about 150 meters north of Pine Ridge Secondary School.

Durham police’s homicide unit has taken over the case.

Missing girl found dead under a home in Salluit Quebec

Oqubec police are investigating after the body of a girl was found deceased under a home on January 27th.

Police said they were notified of the missing girl at approximately 3:30am on January 27th by the victim’s family member. The victims identity and age have not been released. Police have only referred to her as a minor.

Cause of death has not been released and the investigation is ongoing.

Saskatoon’s first homicide of 2019 – 39-year-old woman found dead in a Saskatoon home, charges laid

Saskatoon police were called to a home on Kootenay Drive, on January 29th at approximately 8:30am on report of an injured person.

On arrival officers located a deceased woman. A 37 year old man who was also in the home was taken into custody. Police will not release the name of the victim until her next of kin is notified.

Blake Jeffrey Schreiner has been charged with second-degree murder.

Medicine Hat Man charged with the murder of June Rose

110 Biggest Canadian City Homicide Count, Homicide Rate PER 100,000 AND FULL YEAR 2018 Final Statistics.

Police said the body of June Rose, of Burnaby, B.C., was found at a residence in Bassano, Alta., on January 22.

RCMP have confirmed the death of Rose to be a homicide, however the cause of death has not been released.

Chase Leland Hehr, of Medicine Hat, was charged with second-degree murder. Police have not released the relationship between the accused and the deceased.

Tony Magi Shot to death in Montreal’s first homicide of 2019

Montreal police responded to a report of gunshots in the west-end neighbourhood of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce in the morning of January 24th

Police arrived to find Tony Magi unconscious on the sidewalk outside a construction site. Magi was suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Police said Magi died in hospital of his injuries. No arrests have been made at this time.

Tony Magi had reported links to organized crime in Montreal. Magi survived a kidnapping in 2005, and a shooting that left him in a coma in 2008.

Jordan Moore dies from a gunshot wound in Calgary’s 2nd homicide of 2019

Calgary police were called to an alleyway behind the 100 block of 15 Street N.W., on reports of a man suffering from a gunshot wound, on January 22nd at approximately 12:10am.

Police arrived to find Jordan Moore, 34, suffering from a gunshot wound. Moore was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Two suspects were taken into custody on January 22nd at approximately 7 p.m., in the Westhills area. Police said no further details can be released at this time.

Update March 16th
Calgary police have arrested and charged Jermaine Bailey, 30, and Xavier Bailey, 25, both of Calgary, with first degree murder.

Police investigating a double homicide in Vaughan Ontario.

York Regional Police responded to reports of a shooting at a banquet hall located at 8131 Keele Street, on January 26th at approximate 4:15am.

Police arrived to find one deceased male victim, and a 23-year-old male suffering from life threatening injuries. The 23-year-old was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. Police have not released the identities of the victims at this time.

York Regional Police have identified the victim’s in the January 26th double homicide as Devin Degoias, 23, from Toronto and Ramone Morgan, 26, from Toronto.
