Edmonton Homicide # 28 – Police investigating suspicious death of a 49-year-old woman in Edmonton

Edmonton police responded to a report of an assault with a weapon at a home in the area of 214 Street and Breckenridge Drive, on December 28th at 8:50am.

Police arrived to find a 49-year-old woman suffering from serious injuries. Despite life saving measures by paramedics, she was pronounced at the scene.

53-year-old Wen Zhou Zhang turned himself into police at 10:15am on December 28th. Edmonton police said Mr Zhang has been charged with second degree murder and possession of weapon for dangerous purpose in the city’s 28th homicide of 2018.

Update court documents have identified the deceased as
Wenlan Bu, 49. Cause of death has been reported as a gunshot wound.

Rock Habib-Joumaa shot to death on Christmas day in North Vancouver

North Vancouver RCMP responded to reports of a shooting at the 600 block of Seylynn Crescent, on December 25th at approximately 8:12pm.

On arrival police and paramedics found Rock Habib-Joumaa, 25, suffering from gunshot wounds. Habib-Joumaa was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe the shooting was targeted, and said Habib-Joumaa was known to police but did not have a criminal record.

Toronto Homicide #96 – Cimran Farah dies of a gunshot wound

Toronto police responded to a call for a Shooting in the Kipling Avenue and Rowntree Road area, on December 21st at approximately 9:00pm.

Police said they arrived to find a 19, 20 and 51-year-old who had all been shot. The 19 and 20-year-old had been shot while inside a vehicle. All three were transported to hospital where 20-year-old Cimran Farah died of his injuries on December 27th.

55-year-old man charged with the death of Crystal Tracey in St. Stephen NB

New Brunswick police were called to a home on Schoodic Street in St. Stephen regarding a dispute on December 24th at approximately 11:10am.

On arrival police found 52-year-old Crystal Tracey deceased and 55-year-old Irving Hastey unresponsive. Hastey was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries and was later arrested and charged with the death of Tracey.

Cause of death has not been released at this time.

Winnipeg police investigating Christmas Day Homicide of Tyler Evan Smoke

Winnipeg emergency personnel responded to the 400 block of Victor Street for the report of an injured male, on December 25th at approximately 7:15am.

The victim, Tyler Evan Smoke, 26, was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. Police have not released the cause of death at this time.

Police are asking for help from the public to determining Tyler’s whereabouts prior to his homicide. Anyone who had recent contact with Tyler, and anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6508.

Soheil Rafipour identified as Richmond Hill Christmas Eve homicide victim.

York Regional Police responded to Barnwood Drive in the city of Richmond Hill on December 24th at approximately 9:30pm after several reports of a shooting.

Emergency crews arrived to find 33-year-old Soheil Rafipour suffering from gunshot wounds. Rafipour was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

It has been reported that a dark coloured SUV fled the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7865

Two Men Dead in St. Leonard Shooting; 31st and 32nd Montreal Homicides

Two men were shot Monday in the Montreal borough of St. Leonard close to noon. A 38 year old male victim died at the scene; a 41 year old male died later in hospital.

The shooting took place in an apartment building on Jean-Talon Boulevard East. Suspects fled in an unknown direction. No arrests as yet have been made.

The homicides were the 31st and 32nd for Montreal in 2018; in all of 2017 there were only 24 homicides.

44-year-old Man with alleged ties to the Hells Angels gunned down at a Montreal gas station.

Montreal police were called to the intersection of Robert and Langelier boulevards in Saint-Leonard, at 2:40pm on December 20th on report of a shooting.

Police arrived to find the 44-year-old male victim on the ground
beside a black Jeep Cherokee at an Ultramar gas  station. The victim was suffering from a gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

It has been reported that the victim is Sébastien Beauchamp However police would not confirm. Benoit Boisselle of the Montreal police said “What we can say is he was well-known to police for organized crime,”

Homicide investigation is underway after an 83 year old woman found dead in Mississauga

Peel police were called to a residence in the area of Cawthra Road and Silver Creek Boulevard in Mississauga on a report of an unresponsive female, on December 21st at approximately 9:48am.

On arrival police and paramedics located an 83-year-old woman with signs of trauma and she was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Police will not release the identity of the victim until next of kin has been notified.

Woman found dead at the Red Carpet Inn Calgary, charges laid

Calgary police were called to the Red Carpet Inn, located at 4635 16 Ave. N.W, on December 21st at approximately 7:10am on reports of a suspicious death.

Police arrived to find a woman deceased in a room. The victim’s identity and cause of death have not been released at this time.

Clifton Spotted Eagle was arrested shortly after the discovery of the body and charged with second degree murder.
