Tony Vaillancourt’s body found in St. John River

New Brunswick RCMP are investigating the suspicious death of Tony Vaillancourt 42, after his body was found by paddlers in the St. John River near Tobique Narrows on August 2nd.

Vaillancourt had not been in contact with family or friends since April 9, 2017.

An autopsy performed in September has lead investigators to believe the death of Tony Vaillancourt is suspicious in nature.

Police ask that anyone with information that could help the investigation to contact the RCMP’s Major Crime Unit at 506-452-3491.

Edmonton police investigating after human remains were found buried beneath a garage

Edmonton police received a tip that a body may have been buried beneath a garage floor in the area of 118 Avenue and 96 Street.

Police uncovered the remains of an unidentified male on September 29th. the investigation is still in its early stages and Homicide detectives have taken over the case.

More information will be added as it becomes available.

Update October 3

An autopsy conducted has revealed the identity of the deceased as Derek James Winnig, 42. Winning had been missing since May of this year. A photo of the victim has been released however the cause of death will be withheld during the investigation. Police have asked that anyone with information contact the EPS at 780-423-4567.

Toronto Homicide 44 & 45 – Two dead after a shooting in Rebel night club parking lot

Toronto Police were called to the parking lot of the popular waterfront night club Rebel, on October 1st at 3:12 am on report of a shooting.

On arrival police located one victim, believed to be in his 20’s without vital signs. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second victim was found in critical condition, and was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The victims will not be identified until next of kin is notified.

Update October 3
The victims have been identified as Zemarai Khan Mohammed, 26, and Tyler Mclean, 25, both of Toronto.

On Monday October 2nd police obtained a search warrant and arrested Abdirisaq Ali, 23, of Toronto, and Tanade Mohamed, 24, of Edmonton. Both Ali and Mohamed have been charged with two counts of second degree murder.

Toronto Homicide 43 – John Trevor Paul shot to death in the Sheridan Mall parking lot

Toronto police responded to reports of a shooting at the North York Sheridan Mall, at 1700 Wilson Avenue on September 29th at 7:51pm.

Police located the victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police have released photos of the suspects and a vehicle. Police ask that anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7400.

Update October 2
Toronto police have identified the victim as John Trevor Paul 32 of Toronto.

Toronto homicide #42 – Michal Nowaczek-Said charged with the death of Julia Sokolov

Toronto police responded to a radio call for an Unknown Trouble in the Birchmount Road and Danforth Avenue area on September 10th at Approximately 1:50pm.

At the scene police found an injured 50 year old woman who told them there was a man in the building with a knife.

Police found 24 year old Julia Sokolov suffering from life threatening injuries. Sokolov was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Michal Nowaczek-Said, 24, was arrested and charged with Attempt Murder, Assault Bodily Harm and five counts of Assault Peace Office.

Julia Sokolov died of her injuries in hospital on September 19th. Michal Nowaczek-Said’s charges have been upgraded to First-Degree Murder.
