Update charges laid – Vancouver police investigating a double homicide

Vancouver police were asked to check in on the welfare of the residents of a home on  West 64th Avenue near Hudson Street on September 27, around 1:30 pm.

Police arrived to find a 60 year old woman, and a 60 year old man dead. The BC Coroners Service is working on identifying the victims.

Constable Jason Doucette of VPD has said that the deaths do not appear to be a murder suicide.

Update September 29th
Vancouver police are asking for help from the public in locating a 2014 White Kia Soul with B.C. licence plate ACK 605. Do not approach the vehicle and call 9-1-1 if you see it. This vehicle is associated to the residence where the two people were found dead, and is unaccounted for.

The victims have been identified as married couple, Dianna Mah-Jones, 65, and Richard Jones, 68, of Vancouver. Police have yet to determine if the act was random or targeted.

Update November 8th

Rocky Rambo Wei Nam Kam, 25, has been charged with two counts of second degree murder in relation to the deaths of Richard Jones and Dianna Mah-Jones.

The investigation is still in it’s early stages. Vancouver police are urging anyone who may have information about these deaths to call 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.


4 arrested in connection to the death of a 60 year old man in Bellefond

Police responded to a report of an altercation on Bellefond Road, on September 21st at approximately 8:30pm.

On arrival police located an unresponsive 60 year old man. The man was rushed to a hospital in Miramichi, where he was pronounced deceased.

Three 24 year old men and one 23 year old mam were arrested, however no charges have been laid at this time.

Nikolas Derrick Salsman charged with second degree murder in New Minas suspicious death

New Minas polce were called to a home on Lockhart Drive on September 24th at approximately 9:25am after the lifeless body of a man was found on the front lawn.

RCMP said the victim was a 34 year old man from New Minas. The cause of death has not been released.

Nikolas Derrick Salsman, 30,  of Lockhart Dr. with second-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in Kentville Provincial Court on October 18.

Co-founder of Red Scorpions shot to death in Kamloops

Kamloops RCMP received multiple calls reporting a shooting in the area of Hudson’s Bay Trail in the Guerin Creek subdivision off the Summit Drive connector on September 21st at 7:20pm.

Police arrived at the scene to find a 28 year old man with non life- threatening injuries, and Konaam Shirzad, 34 dead at the scene.

Konaam Shirzad was the co-founder of the Red Scorpions gang and  owned a gym in North Kamloops..

Anybody witnessing the shooting or having information about the suspects is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.

Update – 25 year old BC man shot to death in Porter Creek Yukon

Whitehorse RCMP responded to a reported shooting in Porter Creek, at the area of Alaska Highway and Wann Road on September 20th at approximately 6:40pm.

Police said two vehicles were involved in the incident. Police said the vehicle driven by the victim was in close proximity to what they believe was a red pick up truck. The person in the red truck fired several times injuring the driver of the other vehicle, before fleeing the scene.

The 25 year old victim was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries on September 21st.

Update October 8th
Police have identified the victim as Mohamed Nagiel Saddek Nagem 25. No arrests have been made at this time. Investigators are urging any witnesses to contact police at 667-5555, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.


Man dies of a stab wound in Burnaby

Burnaby police were called to the area of Kingsway and Royal Oak Avenue on September 18th, at around 11:30pm on report of a stabbing.

Police arrived at the scene to find two people suffering from non life threatening injuries, and a third who died of his injuries.

Police believe the attack was random.

Veronique Barbe murdered in St-Eustache

Police discovered the body of  Veronique Barbe inside her home at the same time an amber alert was placed for her missing son on September 14th.

Police found the six year old unharmed with his father,Ugo Fredette, travelling to Ontario in a stolen car. The father of the boy has been charged with the Murder of Veronique Barbe.

Police set up a search for the vehicle owner Yvon Lacasse, 71 who was last seen on September 14th.  Lacasse was found dead on September 20th in Arundel, 100 kilometres northwest of Montreal.

No charges have been laid in the death of Lacasse at this time.

Update: Hamzeh Serhan shot to death in Ottawa

Ottawa police and paramedics responded to reports of gunshots in the 1500 block of Caldwell Avenue on September 20th at 3:20pm.

Emergency crews arrived to find 20 year old Hamzeh Serhan suffering from a gunshot wound. Serhan was rushed to hospital in critical condition where he died of his injuries.

Police are asking for help from the public. Anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to call the Ottawa Police Major Crime Section at 613-236-1222, ext. 5493.

Ottawa Police have asked for the public’s assistance in locating  Farah Handule, 20, of Toronto. Handul has been charged  with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Hamzeh Serhan, 20, on September 20th. Farah Handule is described as 6’1” , 150 lbs with a dark complexion. If seen, contact 911.

Edmonton police investigate the second suspicious death in less than 24 hours

Edmonton police responded to a call for assistance from EMS for an alleged single-vehicle collision near 118 Avenue and 37 Street on September 19th at approximately 4:35am.

Police arrived at the scene to find a male victim deceased, with wounds not consistent with a collision.

Police have not released the name of the victim or cause of death. Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation.

Update September 21
The Edmonton Medical Examiner has confirmed that 50 year old Spiros Jerry Tziklas died of a stab wound. Homicide detectives continue to investigate.

Update: Edmonton homicide detectives take over suspicious death investigation

Edmonton police were called to a home in the area of 111 Avenue and 94 Street on September 18th at approximately 2:00pm.

Police located a deceased male at the scene. The cause of death and identity of the victim have not been released.

Homicide detectives have since been called out, no other information has been made available at this time.

Update September 23:
Edmonton police have released the identity of the victim as Blayne Joseph Burnstick 25. The Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Burnstick died of a gunshot wound.
