Disappearance of Courtney Lake being investigated as a homicide

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary are investigating the June 7th disappearance of Courtney Lake 24, as a homicide.

Lake was last seen leaving her home on Wellington Crescent in Mount Pearl, at 7:52pm, and getting into a truck on nearby Michener Ave at 7:54pm.

Police are asking for the Public’s help in identifying the vehicle and driver. The truck in question has a  camouflage “deer head “decal on the passenger side of the back (truck pan) window.


Police have released a youtube video of the suspects vehicle, and Lake entering the vehicle.

April death of Pardeep Dulay is Vancouver’s 10th Homicide of 2017

Police and Paramedics were called to Fraserview Hall in South Vancouver on April 15th on report of a sudden death.

Paramedics located Pardeep Dulay, 41, of Richmond, and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Evidence gathered at the scene revealed that Dulay had been involved in a physical altercation before his death.

Aneil Sanghera, 28, of Richmond was arrested on June 28th and charged with manslaughter.

Police Identify the victim in Vancouver’s 9th homicide of 2017

Vancouver police were called to the 200 block of East Hastings Street on June 27th at approximately 8am on report of an injured man. Police located the victim who was injured as a result of a serious assault, and paramedics rushed him to hospital.

The  man whom is believed to be in his 50’s, died of his injuries in hospital. Investigators do not believe that the public is at risk, but ask anyone with information to call police at 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Update June 30.
VPD have identified the victim as 51 yer old Mark Eriksen. police are asking the public for assistance in determining the events that led up to the stabbing, and locating the person responsible. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Vancouver Police Homicide Unit at 604-717-2500.

Manslaughter charge laid in the death of Jessie Moneybird

Regina police were dispatched to 12th Avenue and Rose Street on June 9th at around 11:54 pm on report of an injured man. Police arrived at the scene to find the victim, Jessie Moneybird 22, in serious condition.

Jessie Moneybird was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. Police said that Jessie Moneybird death was a result of a fight that had broken out between two groups of individuals.

Sylas Moneybird 22 has been charged with manslaughter in relation to the death. Police have not revealed the relationship between the victim and the accused.

Ashton Dickson shot to death in Ottawa’s 5th homicide of 2017

Ottawa police responded to report of a shooting in the area of Rideau Street and Augusta Street on Monday June 26th, at approximately 1am.

Police located the victim, Ashton Dickson, 25 of Ottawa, suffering from serious injuries. Dickson was pronounced dead at the scene.

More information will be added as it becomes available.

Update June 26th 2020

Ottawa police are offering a reward of up to $75,000 for information leading to the arrest of Ashton Dickson’s killer. OPS Homicide Unit has also released security video taken on the night of Ashton’s shooting and is urging witnesses to come forward.

Marvin Elias Caribou dies in hospital after being seriously assaulted

Winnipeg police and paramedics were called to the 100 block of Martha street on June 19th at approximately 11:10 pm on report of an injured man.

According to the Winnipeg Police Report Marvin Elias Caribou 37, was found at the scene suffering from serious head trauma. Caribou was rushed to hospital where he dies as a result of his injuries on June 21.

Sydney Eric Norman Fleury 43, has been charged with manslaughter in his alleged involvement.

The death of Marvin Caribou is the 11th homicide in Winnipeg this year. The 2017 Winnipeg Homicide Victim List is available here.

Update 3 people charged in Edmonton’s 26th homicide of 2017

Edmonton police responded to a call in a parking lot of an apartment building on June 23, at approximately 6:45 am after a passerby found a deceased male near parked vehicles.

Witnesses reported a disturbance at around 3am between a group of people.

The cause of death and victim’s identity has not been released. An autopsy has been scheduled for June 27th.

Update June 26

Edmonton police have arrested 3 people in relation to the death of the 17 year old male. Arnold Anton Stephens, 38, was charged with second degree murder. Victoria May Carifelle, 30, was charged with second degree murder. Terence Christopher Lewis, 30, was charged with second degree murder.

Police decided not to release the name on the victim as it does not serve an investigative purpose. EPS has a duty to protect the privacy rights of the victims and their families.

Update June 27

According to a report by Global News friends and family identified the victim as Ashton Cardinal.
