UPDATE: Burned body found by Lynn Creek being investigated as a homicide

North Vancouver found the remains of a badly burned person at around 10am in a shelter along Lynn Creek on November 28th.

The victim has not been identified at this time.

Police have identified the victim as Lisa MacPherson 41.  Police said MacPherson ” lived transient lifestyle, and did not have a fixed address.”

Calgary homicide #26: Richard Pember found dead in his home

On November 22 a man went to the Calgary Fire Department station at around 1:20 am saying that he needed help for hi injured roommate. Emergency crews arrived at the home on 1800 block of 17 Street S.W. to find 58 year old Richard Pember deceased.

Zachery Frederick Rider, 36, of no fixed address, has been charged with with second-degree murder, and aggravated assault on the man that contacted the fire department.

The death of Richard Pember is the 26th homicide in Calgary this year. The Calgary homicide victim list is available here.

Update Charges Laid: House fire that claimed the life of Ryan Sugar classified as a homicide

On October 11th The Regina Fire department was called to a home at 1555 McTavish St. Ryan Daniel Sugar, 31, was found dead inside the burned building.

Regina police announced on November 29th that their investigation has confirmed the death of Ryan Sugar to be that of a homicide.

The cause of death has not been released at this time.

Colinda Lee Hotomani, 35, Jessica Dawn Pangman, 27, and Gregory James Wolfe, 24,  have been charged with first degree murder in the death of Ryan Sugar.

Ottawa double homicide – Merrill Gleddie Rogers and Dave Rogers found dead

Montreal police contacted Ottawa police on Monday November 28th with information that Cameron Rogers, 22, confessed to killing his parents in Ottawa.

Ottawa police went to the home on Apeldoorn Avenue to check on the welfare of the owners. Police found Dave Rogers, 69, and his wife, Merrill Gleddie Rogers, 63 behind a shed in the backyard. One body was covered by a tarp, and the other was reported to be in a suitcase.

Cameron Rogers has been charged with two counts of first degree murder.

Police have not released the cause of death at this time.

The death of Mr. and Mrs. Rogers brings Ottawa’s homicide count up to 19 for 2016. The 2016 Ottawa Homicide victim’s list is available here.

6 charged: Peterborough police investigating suspicious death of Terry Pringle

Peterborough police were called to a home at 296 Stuart Street on November 26th at approximately 1:30 am.  Police found a man who has been identified as Terry Pringle, 42,  dead at the scene.

Police said the death is considered suspicious and is being treated as a homicide.

Update: The Autopsy revealed the cause of death as blunt force trauma.

One adult and two young offenders have been charged with first degree murder, also three adults have been charged with accessory after the fact.

Shooting death of Marcus Gibson, Toronto’s 61st homicide of 2016

Toronto police were called to a home on Munro Street at around 3:30pm on Sunday November 28th on report of gunfire. Police found the victim, Marcus Gibson, 24, with serious injuries.

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. An autopsy has been scheduled for November 28th.

The homicide happened in the same area as the shooting death of Peggy Ann Smith in August. Police had said that they believe Peggy Ann Smith was not the intended target.

Tyler Ronald Joseph Keizer shot to death in Halifax

Halifax police responded to report of a shooting in the area of Falkland and Gottingen streets on November 21 at around 10:45pm.

Tyler Ronald Joseph Keizer, 22, was found with life threatening injuries, in the drivers seat of an SUV. Keizerwas rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

There have been no arrests at this time.

The death of Tyler Ronald Joseph Keizer is the 12th Halifax homicide this year.

Franc Mlakar found dead in Thompson

Thompson Police received a call to check on the well being of a senior on November 17th. Police arrived to find 83 year old Franc Mlakar dead.

Police said the death appears to be a homicide. Mlakar’s was last seen by friends on October 31.

Police are asking for the help of the public in piecing together the time he was last seen, and the discovery of Mr. Mlakar.
