Police were called to an apartment in March 18th 2015 on report of an injured man. Inside Police found Warren McLeod unconscious on the floor two days after the attack happened.
McLeod 46, was beaten in his own apartment and spent nearly a year in hospital when he died in February 2016.
Over 16 months after the beating, Joelle Marie Reich 47, was arrested on June 29 2016 and charged with manslaughter
Police received a call at around 8 pm on June 28th reporting that a man was injured at the bottom of a staircase. The caller thought the victim may have fallen.
Police arrived to find Ferdinando Belmonte 22 dead at the bottom of the stairs at an apartment complex in the Saint-Vincent-de-Paul district.
Belmonte’s injuries more serious than falling down the stairs. He had sustained injuries to his back, however police would not elaborate on the injuries or any weapons used.
The Death of Ferdinando Belmonte is the third for Laval this year. See the other two victims below.
Rocco Sollecito 67, was shot to death in his car.

UPDATE – October 8th
Laval police say Mitchell Robert Cousins, 29 who was wanted in relation to the death of Belmonte was arrested in Kitchener Ontario on October 4th. Cousins is being transferred to Laval where he will face a murder charge.
Police responded to a report of a sudden death on June 26th in Onoway, around 60 km North West of Edmonton.
Police found 37 year old Glen Abbott dead at the scene. An autopsy was conducted on June 27th, and determined the death to be a homicide. Cause of death has not been released.
Casey Potts has been charged with second degree murder in the death of Glen Abbott.
Michel Barrette 46 was beaten to death at Montreal’s Bordeaux jail by 9 inmates on June 25th over a tobacco debt of 10 grams.
Smoking has been banned in provincial prisons since 2014, a single cigarette is with 10 -$25 in prison.
It was said the Barrette allegedly hid the tobacco inside his rectum in order to sell it.
Barrette was serving a 15 month sentence for drug trafficking.
According to police an altercation occurred between the drivers of two vehicles at around 2:15 am June 26th in the parking lot of H2O Lounge in Edmonton.
Police said Ryan Jimmo 34, approached the suspect and was walking back to his own car when he was struck by the suspects vehicle. The suspect fled the scene.
Jimmo was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.
Ryan Jimmo was a Canadian mixed martial artist who competed in the light heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Police are still looking for the suspect. The vehicle is described as a dark coloured, older model pickup truck.
Edmonton police said Anthony Getschel, 23, has been charged with second degree murder, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, criminal negligence causing death, and failing to stop at the scene of an accident involving death.
Also Jordan Wagner has been charged with being an accessory after the fact.
On June 25th at 10:00 am, Matthew Coussons 29, walked into the Oshawa police station and told Police that something happened to his girlfriend.
Police found Kristina Bennett 25, mother of a five month old, stabbed to death in his Eric Clarke Drive townhouse in Whitby.
Coussons was charged with second-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in court via video on July 20th.
Emergency crews responded to a call of a stabbing on Furby Street, on June 23 at around 3:00am. The victim, James Tucker 45, was rushed to hospital where he died of an upper body wound.
Martin Archie Flett 22, has been charged with second degree murder. Police said there are no indications that the murder was a result of Tuckers past.
It has been confirmed by police that James Tucker went by the name William James Harcus when he was the former head of the Manitoba KKK. He changed his name to James Edsel Tucker in hopes of distancing himself from the group.
On June 20th Pukatawagan RCMP were called to the community nursing station on report of two injured males.
One of the injured died at the scene. The other man is expected to survive.
Leah Castel 19, was arrested on June 20th, and had been charged with second degree murder in the death of the un-named victim, and attempted murder.
Neither the names of the victim’s or the cause of death will be released at this time.
Medicine Hat police were called to Robinson Drive S.E on June 18th on report of an unresponsive male. Police arrived to find John Holmes 51 with a serious injury.
Holmes was rushed to hospital where he died. The Autopsy report concluded that Holmes died of multiple injuries. His wife, Barbara Holmes 51, was arrested and charged with second degree murder.
