Edmonton Police responded to a 911 call reporting a stabbing at about 2 a.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025.

When officers arrived at a home near 80 Street and 117 Avenue, they located a 19-year-old man in critical condition. Officers performed first aid until paramedics arrived, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Not long after, a 21-year-old man was arrested in the area of Jasper Avenue and 101 Street. The case has now been handed over to the EPS Homicide Section, and an autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow at 9 a.m. Investigators say the victim and suspect knew each other.

Police are asking Parkdale residents to look around their properties for anything unusual that may have been discarded after the incident. Anyone who finds something suspicious should leave it where it is and call police right away.
