18-year old Peterborough woman charged with first-degree murder in the drug related death of Tyler Nolan

Peterborough Police Service responded to the report of an unresponsive man at a Bethune Street home on March 7th.

Police and paramedics arrived to find 24-year-old Tyler Nolan deceased in what was initially believed to be an overdose death. The investigation continued and revealed that Nolan was intentionally administered drugs in a quantity resulting in his death.

An online obituary described Tyler Nolan as a father of 6 who was devoted to his family & family always came first. 

Police arrested an 18-year-old Peterborough woman and charged her with first-degree murder. Police said “As the incident happened while the accused was under the age of 18 their name will not be released.”

Update
The 18-year-old accused of killing Tyler Nolan who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was released on $1,500 bail on January 22nd 2021.

According to court records, the woman has been charged with three counts of possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking. The new charges stem from a Peterborough police investigation and are adult charges as she was 18 years old at the time of the alleged offence.
