Leduc RCMP responded to a 911 report of a stabbing at Christ the King School on March 15th at approximately 9:58am.

17-year-old Jennifer Winkler was located with injuries. She was rushed to hospital via STARS air ambulance where she died of her injuries.

At 12:20pm RCMP arrested 19-year-old Dylan Thomas Pountney. The victim and the accused were known to each other, and he was also a student at the school.

RCMP are not looking for any other suspects and can confirm that there is no further public safety concern.

Update: on July 31st 2024 has been found guilty of second-degree murder.
