16-year-old boy charged with the murder of Dakota Beardy in Winnipeg’s 36th homicide of the year

Winnipeg Police Service were called to the report of an assault at a residence in the 200 block of Mapleglen Drive on September 3rd at 1:05am.

On arrival police located 26-year-old Dakota Beardy severely injured. Winnipeg police provided first aid including the use of tourniquets. The victim was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

A 16-year-old male suspect was located in the area and placed under arrest. He has since been charged with Second Degree Murder.
