Montreal police responded to a 911 call in the Villeray borough apartment on April 25th at approximately 6:05pm.
Police and paramedics arrived to find an 11-year-old Jolie-Anne De Sève, and a 5-year-old girl suffering from stab wounds. The children were rushed to hospital where the 11-year-old died of her injuries. According to Montreal police spokesperson Julien Lévesque , the 5-year-old is in stable condition.
The mother of the children was arrested by police and hospitalized for self-inflicted wounds to her upper body.
