Toronto Homicide #75, Man Found Outside Parkdale Building Saturday Night, Now Considered a Homicide

A man found late Saturday night outside a Parkdale apartment building on West Lodge Avenue, is now considered the city’s 75th homicide of 2018 (the City of Toronto had 66 homicides in all of 2018). He was pronounced dead at the scene. No name, age or manner of death has as yet been provided by police.

Update
Toronto police said that investigators believe there was an altercation on a balcony and that the man had fallen to the ground. An autopsy will be conducted today, September 10th, to determine the cause of death.

Update September 13th

Police have identified the victim as 42-year-old Chad Day of Toronto.

Lee Newelln, 30, of Hamilton, was arrested on September 12th and charged with first-degree murder. Police also arrested Christopher Small, 28, of Hamilton, on September 12th and charged him with second-degree murder. There is one suspect still outstanding.

Update September 27th
Police have released photographs of a 3rd suspect. The wanted man is described as 20-30, wearing a black baseball hat, red sweater with white stripes, and dark pants.
