Update – Warrant issued for the arrest of Alexander Fountain: Toronto homicide #15 – Samatar Farah found dead outside of a townhouse complex

Police were called to Chester Le Boulevard in Scarborough on April 15th at around 1:30 am on report of gunshots. It wasn’t until hours later that Police and EMT’s were called to the same area on report of an injured man at 8:02am.

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The victim’s identity will not be released until his next of kin has been notified.

Update: The victim on Saturday’s homicide has been identified as Samatar Farah, 24. A Go Fund Me Page had been set up to help with funeral costs, and exceeded it’s $15,000 goal in less than 24 hours.

Update: On Monday, November 5, 2018, Shaquan McLean, now 24, was arrested and charged with three counts of attempted murder. Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Alexander Fountain, now 24, of Toronto. Fountain is wanted for Three counts of Attempt Murder  and First-Degree Murder.

Update July 29th
Toronto Police Service Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force executed an unrelated search warrant in the Whitchurch-Stouffville area on July 28th.

Police said while they were executing the search warrant, Alexander Fountain,  who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for the homicide of Samatar Farah was located inside.

Alexander Fountain, 29, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. First Degree Murder
2. three counts of Attempt Murder
