2 year old Rosalie Gagnon stabbed to death – Mother facing charges

Quebec City police said a mother and child were reported missing earlier this week when an empty stroller in Bon-Air Park in the Charlesbourg neighbourhood. The SPVQ had issued a notice of search on Wednesday April 18th, to find Audrey Gagnon, 23, and her daughter Rosalie 2.

Police located the Audrey Gagnon, in the area of ​​Gaspard Avenue, but without her daughter. Investigation lead police  to Avenue de Gaulle, still in the Charlesbourg area, where the body of 2 year old Rosalie was found in a garbage can.

Gagnon, who is known to police, was interrogated for several hours before her arrest was confirmed at 6:45am April 19th. Audrey Gagnon, 23, is expected to face charges in connection with the death of her daughter.

An autopsy has been scheduled for April 19th, to determine the cause of death.

Audrey Gagnon has been charged with second-degree-murder in relation to the death of her 2 year old daughter. Rosalie Gagnon was repeatedly stabbed and found dead in a garbage can in Quebec City’s Charlesbourg borough.

Update March 2020
Audrey Gahnon has been sentanced to life in prison for her daughters death with no chance for parole for 14 years, for the death of her two-year-old daughter. Gagnon, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in a Quebec City courtroom on March 11th 2020.
