Whitehorse RCMP responded to a reported shooting in Porter Creek, at the area of Alaska Highway and Wann Road on September 20th at approximately 6:40pm.
Police said two vehicles were involved in the incident. Police said the vehicle driven by the victim was in close proximity to what they believe was a red pick up truck. The person in the red truck fired several times injuring the driver of the other vehicle, before fleeing the scene.
The 25 year old victim was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries on September 21st.
Update October 8th
Police have identified the victim as Mohamed Nagiel Saddek Nagem 25. No arrests have been made at this time. Investigators are urging any witnesses to contact police at 667-5555, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Fort Good Hope Police responded to report of an injured man on September 3rd in the Sahtu community. police said the man was victim to a fatal stabbing.
Colten McNeely 24 turned himself in and was charged with murder. McNeely was scheduled for September 7th.
Police said 51 year old Clayton Benoit was rushed to Whitehorse General Hospital by Emergency Medical Services on August 30th at around 11:30am.
Police said Benoit died later that day as a result of his injuries.
An autopsy conducted on September 5th in Vancouver revealed the death of Benoit to be a homicide. Police have not released the cause of death at this time.

Yukon RCMP are investigating the death of Wilfred Charlie 57, after students at a learning camp found the body in the Yukon River, near Fort Selkirk on July 5th.
The autopsy conducted on July 7th has lead investigators to believe Charlie was a victim of homicide. Charlie was last seen near his Carmack’s area home on June 19th.
Mario Rueben Skookum 25, was arrested on October 5th and charged with first-degree murder in relation to the death of Wilfred Charlie. Police said Tyler Aaron Skookum 27, was arrested in September and charged with the lesser charge of second-degree murder.

Yukon RCMP were called to the Alaska Highway west of Ibex Valley on June 28th just before 6:30pm on report of a body.
Police have identified the victim as 25 year old Adam Cormack of Whitehorse. The cause of death has not been released at this time.
Edward James Penner, 20, is facing a first degree murder charge in connection to the death.

RCMP were called to a residence in the McIntyre Subdivision on April 19th. Officers found Wendy Margaret Carlick, 51, and Sarah Macintosh, 53, dead at the scene.
RCMP has released very few details around the double homicide, other than the public is not at risk.

On April 6th RCMP were called to a home in the Riverdale area of Whitehorse on report of an unresponsive male.
Greg Alvin Dawson, 45, was found dead. An autopsy was completed, and police said foul play cannot be ruled out at this time.

RCMP were called to a residence in Watson Lake on December 23 at around midnight on report of an assault. Once at the home police found 87 year old Olson Wolftail dead.
Alfred Thomas Chief 31 has been arrested and charged with the murder of Wolftail.
The cause of death has not been released at this time.
Raine Andrew Silas 18, was found dead on November 4 in Pelly Crossing. RCMP had originally treated the death as suspicious, however autopsy reports concluded the death of Silas was homicide.
Police arrested Tristan Joe 30, on November 14th and charged him with second degree murder in the death of Silas.
RCMP responded to a call at around 10 pm October 7th, on Stan McCowan Place on reports of gunshots. Police found Matthew Devellano 32, outside of a home, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Devellano was rushed to hospital where he died from his injuries that same night.
Police don’t have any suspects at this time, however witnesses said they saw a dark coloured minivan fleeing the scene.
