A 15-year-old Winnipeg girl who was seriously assaulted while in government care has been taken off life support.
The girl was beaten and left for dead at a parkade in downtown Winnipeg on April 1.
Police charged a 15-year-old boy with aggravated assault and aggravated sexual assault.
Police were called to a home February 15th on Inkster Boulevard on a call of gunshots. On arrival, police found Ralph Edward Boehnlein 54, suffering from a gunshot wound in the upper body. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition where he later died.
Matthew Wayne Lee Valentine, 24, is facing charges of second-degree murder, identity fraud and failure to comply with a recognizance.
The dead body of Christophur Baur 36, who was missing since Jan. 3, was found inside a Winnipeg home on February 16th.
38 year old, James John Morris, has been charged with second-degree murder.
Police said Baur and Morris knew each other and that Baur went to visit Morris at his Magnus Avenue home on Jan. 3. Police said the suspect hit Baur with a weapon and hid his body in the home.
Two men are in custody following the Jan. 23 death of 22-year-old Dustin McKay, Winnipeg’s first homicide of the year.
According to Winnipeg police, McKay and a 28-year-old man got into a fight on the roadway around Isabel Street and Pacific Avenue about 11:20 p.m. and McKay was knocked unconscious.
He was left lying in the southbound lanes of Isabel street when the 28-year-old took off with a woman in a vehicle.
Police say a short time later a separate vehicle hit McKay. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where he died of his injuries.
A 50-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving causing death. and drive with more than 80 mg of alcohol in blood causing death.
The 28-year-old has been charged with manslaughter.
