Update: Police investigating suspicious death of a 19 year old man in Regina

Regina police are investigating the death of a 19 year old male who died in hospital after being found at the 900 block of Albert Street on May 20th at approximately 2:25 am.

EMS rushed the man to hospital where he died later that day. The victim’s next of kin has been notified, however Regina police have not released the man’s name.

Update May 25.

The victim has been identified as 19 year old Andrew Pasap. Cheyna Peigan 23 has been charged with manslaughter in the death of Pasap.

 

Christopher Sean Pascal charged with the death Rodney James Nippi

Regina police were called to a home in a  duplex at 1474 12th Ave on  report of an assault. Police believe someone entered Rodney Nippi’s home assaulted him with a weapon and left.

Nippi was found with life threatening injuries. Paramedics said he died at the scene.

Update May 22nd
Christopher Sean Pascal 25 has been arrested and charged with second degree murder in the death of Nippi. Pascal is known to police.

Lucas Alexander Lerat dies from injuries in Fort Qu’Appelle

RCMP and File Hills First Nations police  were called to  a business on the 500 block of Hudson Avenue, on Saturday May 13th at approximately 11pm on report of a disturbance.

Police arrived to find 27 year old Lucas Lerat severely injured. Lerat was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police have not released the cause of death at this time.

Murder charges laid in the suspicious death of Abbie Speir

Emergencey crews were called to a house fire in Yellow Grass Saskatchewan on April 20th. Abbie Speir was found dead in the home.

Police initially called the death suspicious however stated that a Homicide investigation had been launched, and an arrest had been made. Kevin Obina Okafor, 37, who was known to Speir has been charged with first degree murder.

Simon Grant dies following an armed robbery at Louisiana’s Bar B Que

Police were called to the Louisiana’s Bar B Que in La Ronge SK on April 15th at 10:55pm on report of a robbery.

Police found Simon Grant 64, the owner of the restaurant in serious condition. Grant was transported to hospital where he died of his injuries on April 17th.

Police said masked people entered Louisiana’s Bar B Que with a baseball bat and two handguns. They suspects assaulted Grant, and left with an undisclosed amount of money, in less than 5 minutes.

The body of Melinda Gladys Charles found in Northern Saskatchewan

Melinda Gladys Charles 47, was reported missing by family on March 23. Police said she was last seen in the Deschambault Lake area.

The body of Charles was located on March 27th, Police have not said where her body was found, but have said she was a victim of homicide.

A 44 year old man who was known to Melinda Charles has been charged with second degree murder.

Heidi Veit murdered by her estranged husband in RM of Buffalo Sask

The body of Heidi Veit was found five kilometres northeast of Wilkie in the RM of Buffalo on March 28th. Police have not released the cause of death. at this time.

Wesley John Veit was arrested on March 27th without incident, and is facing a first degree murder charge in the death of Veit.

Heidi Veit was a mother of two and an education assistant at McLurg School.

 

 

Damian Ballantyne, Prince Albert’s first homicide in 2017

Prince Albert police responded to a call for assistance at a home on March 22nd at around 1:20am.  Police arrived at the 300 block of Ninth Street E to assist Parkland Ambulance paramedics with an unresponsive male.

Despite life saving efforts, Damian Ballantyne 34 died from his injuries.

Police arrested two people that were known to Ballantyne, however no charges have been laid.
